With an architectural design that takes its cue from the old industrial warehouses that used to mark this area of Lisbon, the ‘Asian Market’ stands out for its dichotomy of transparency and opacity through materials and colors.
On the outside, a raw and expressive metal shell was designed, with strategic cut-outs that recreate the industrial skyline.
For the interiors, we opted for allusions to the Orient, which come to life through materials such as wood and paper, colors such as red, and plays of light.
In order to create eclectic ‘gastronomic’ environments, two levels were defined with different restaurant concepts: on the lower floor there were communal dining areas with a terrace on the patio, in a very informal language; on the upper floor restaurant spaces were designed with attached terraces, including access to the rooftop overlooking the river.
‘Asian Market’ will be an unparalleled opportunity to implement new gastronomic concepts and, at the same time, bring a different cultural atmosphere to an area of the city that is gradually and energetically developing.
